Mike Karanja is the Founder and Chairman of the Tropiqua Group, a real estate and hospitality business. He serves on the boards of the Shaza Residence & Spa in Mombasa. He is Chairman of Kingi Holdings, a private investments firm trading in Securities, and Director of Access Holdings, an investment firm that owns the recently licenced U&I Microfinance Bank.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Building Economics from the University of Nairobi and is a registered Quantity Surveyor. Robert has had extensive experience in Quantity Surveying, The Civil Service, Outdoor Branding, Construction Contracting, and Project Management & Building Development. He has also gained a lot of development exposure from travel. In 2010, he helped found Home Afrika Communities Limited and was appointed its Managing Director.
Mr. Gichohi is a Shareholder of Migaa Development (Home Afrika Communities Ltd) through his company Linyanti Ltd. He is also a Director and Shareholder of Mambrui Golf Resort Ltd, a 1,200 acre mixed used development project located in Mambrui, Malindi. Mr. Gichohi is also the Chairman of CMGI Ltd (Critical Mass Growth Investment), an investment group that is a major shareholder of a public company Norwich Union Properties Ltd, which holds a large property portfolio in Nairobi.
Anne is a Chartered Surveyor whose areas of expertise include Property Development and Management, International Property Acquisition, Development and Disposal, Land Policy Issues, Infrastructure Services Development and Implementation, Project Development, Project Finance and Low Cost Housing Development. Anne holds an MBA from, Brunel University, UK, and a Master of Science Degree in Commercial Property Management.
Linus Gitahi is currently the Chairman of the Board of Tropikal Brands Afrika Limited and Home Afrika Limited. Mr. Gitahi served as Group CEO of Nation Media Group, the biggest media firm in East and Central Africa from November 2006 to June 2015. He had joined NMG after a long career as a senior executive with pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline in East and West Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Mr. Awendo has over 20 years of post qualification experience in audit, accounting, management consultancy, corporate finance and entrepreneurship. Dan has worked in various senior management positions in both local and international companies and has been a board member of various companies and learning institutions in Kenya. Dan is the founder and previously the CEO of Investeq Capital, a company that focuses on the unique environment of financing Small & Medium sized business in East Africa. Dan led Investeq Capital to win both local and continental awards in Strategy, Leadership, Customer Orientation, Financial Performance and Entrepreneurship. He has also previously been named by The Business Daily as amongst Kenya’s “High Impact Entrepreneurs” and also amongst Kenya’s “CEO’s with Golden Hands”. He has also been profiled by The Standard Newspaper as a “Captain of Industry.”
He has over 8 years experience having worked for various organisations including Taxplan Consulting Associates, Oldonyo Laro Group Ltd and has experience in Audit, Accounting, Tax and Financial Reporting. His responsibility at Home Afrika Limited including the subsidiary level is to ensure that resources are utilized in the most efficient manner, ensuring profitability, growth and goodwill of Home Afrika Limited.
